Here we go again... new nose art for "Executive Sweet" or is it "My Buck"? Well, whether you are just seeing this for the first time or you have been dying to ask why we now have "Executive Sweet on one side of the airplane and "My Buck" on the other, then you have come to the right place for the answer.
The story is, that as you can see, I have once again had the honor of putting my brush to the aluminum skin of the B-25J "Executive Sweet". That's right, "Executive Sweet" is still the the official name ofthe American Aeronautical Foundation's (AAF) B-25.
"My Buck" has been painted on the starboard side of the aircraft as a memorial to the accomplishments of Link Piazzo and his late wife Helen, who is the lovely lady in the painting. Link flew 67 combat missions in the B-25 during world war II, and this is a recreation of the nose art from his B-25. My Buck was Link's nickname for Helen.
After the completion of the art, the aircraft was flown to Reno, Nevada for a very special presentation ceremony, unveiling the art to Link for the first time. It was a very special and emotional reunion.
We will be adding more information, photographs and video about this story online soon, in the meantime, be sure to catch up with "My Buck"... I mean "Executive Sweet" at an air show near you soon and we'll show you around a bit.
For more information on Executive Sweet, check out the American Aeronautical Foundation web site and be sure to have a closer look sometime soon at an air show near you.
