For the first time since 2007, air show action returned to Pt. Mugu and Naval Base Ventura County. Headlined by the always popular USAF Thunderbirds Flight Demonstration Team, the Mugu show did not disappoint. For years, the Mugu show has been plagued by foggy conditions and Saturday was shaping up to be much that way, but as the day progressed, the fog cleared... at least enough to put on a full show and all was GO!
Sunday's weather was even better clearing much earlier in the day to blue skies allowing the show to get underway on time and to conclude earlier than the day before. All of the performers put on a great show and the crowd never stopped growing all the way up until the close of flying Sunday. The Thunderbirds flew a full show both days and the B-25 "Executive Sweet" along will a multitude of past and present military aircraft filled the show line on static display.
Aircraft photographed include: F/A-18C Hornet (Legacy Hornet), C-130J Super Hercules, F-16s of the USAF Thunderbirds, B-25J Executive Sweet, F-5E Tiger II, L-39 "Firecat", etc...
Look for these aircraft and more in our galleries above.... interested to learn more about the airplanes in our galleries, check out our online air museum.
