As has come to be our Nellis Air Show tradition, the SlickPixels.com team arrived early in the week and were once again treated to beautiful conditions for photography. Somehow the Nevada desert continually delivers some of the best shooting conditions available at any of the venues we attend.
If you have been attending the Nellis Aviation Nation or looking through our Nellis galleries for any length of time, then you may notice that the event is just a little smaller than in the past, but it remains a first class event and a real favorite for us. Nellis is always the final show of our season and has yet to disappoint.
If you look closely at Dan's & Lyonel's photos of our favorite B-25, Executive Sweet, you may be able to see me hitching a ride in the nose, doing a little video work. Be sure to check out the AAF web site for more info on the B-25 and their C-47, currently in restoration.
Be sure to keep a look out in all of our galleries for Bill Reeseman flying his Red Bull Mig 17 for the final time at the Nellis Air Show. We have some great shots of him and will truly miss his fantastic flying during air show seasons to come.
Nellis is of course the homecoming show for the world famous USAF Thunderbirds. Just back from their 2009 PACAF Tour, they remain polished and as always the mountains behind Nellis make a spectacular backdrop to photograph these amazing aviators and their aircraft.
Enjoy the shots... we look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at an air show soon!
